Website delivery

This website consists of statically generated files and is served through NGINX on Amazon Web Services (AWS) EC2 in the Europe (Frankfurt) Region, eu-central-1.

Delivering the website necessarily requires technical processing of data including the IP address of the requesting device. NGINX access and error logs are not stored and are not forwarded to CloudWatch or another logging service.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in providing a secure and technically functional website. AWS processes the data required for this purpose as a processor under the applicable AWS data-protection terms.

Contact by email

The contact links on this website open the visitor's email application. Opening such a link alone does not transmit personal data to the website.

If you send us an email, we process the information you provide — in particular your email address, name, subject, message, attachments and technical email metadata — to handle your inquiry and any resulting business relationship. We use Google Workspace as our email service.

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where it is necessary for steps taken before entering into a contract or for performing a contract. Other inquiries are processed under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in receiving and answering business inquiries.

General inquiries that do not result in a contract or a legally relevant business record are manually deleted no later than twelve months after the communication has concluded. Contractual, accounting or tax-relevant messages and records are retained for seven years from the end of the relevant calendar year where required by law. Data is retained for longer only while required for a pending proceeding or specific legal claims.

Google may use subprocessors to provide Google Workspace and may process data under the applicable Google data-protection terms and appropriate transfer mechanisms.

Theme preference

If you explicitly select Light or Dark, the website stores only the value light or dark under the key codemodog.theme in your browser's local storage. If you make no explicit selection, the website follows your operating-system preference.

This functional preference contains no identifier, timestamp or analytics data. It is not transmitted to Codemodog e.U. and is not used for tracking. No cookie is used for this purpose. You can delete the value at any time through your browser's website-data settings.

No analytics or tracking

This website uses no analytics or tracking services, advertising profiles, cookies, contact forms or embedded third-party content. No automated decision-making or profiling takes place.
